Lord knows my passion for online gaming is boundless, but my tolerance for a lack of simple courtesy and respect in gaming is not. I have always had a set of rules by which I play. And those are the rules I expect anyone else gaming with me to follow. Please respect this guideline and understand, I come from an extensive background of text-based freeform RPG.
Gaming Guidelines
- I play a serious, very intense game. Sorry, but this cannot be helped, it is the way I have always played. If you prefer something lighter, if my style of play is too intense, then I have a good suggestion for you. Don't game with me.
- This is a pure freeform character, with years and years spent in development and creation. I do not and will not change her to suit anyone else's needs, wants or rules. This includes such games as any of the WW RPGs, D&D RPGs, anime, or anything else period. Let's get real people; even a demon, a vampire or a god are going to have a grudging respect toward an immortal of her age, and tread with caution.
- Gaming is the place where I get to openly explore many aspects of my creative side. That does include the darkest areas of me. It does not necessarily reflect who I am, rather at moments, who I am not. If I killed as many people as Aeron, I'd most likely be doing about 30 life sentences back-to-back. That is, if I were not on death row.
- Go ahead, by all means, tell me how best to play my character around your character. After you have given me all the details, I'll play her exactly, precisely as she is. If that does not agree with you, refer to the first statement above.
- I have never once found myself lacking the presence of gifted gamers, with which to co-write amazing story lines. Your character's lack of interaction with mine is not my loss. Nor do I care.
- If you do not like me, it is not my problem. Apathy is, as in real life and online gaming, an art; one which I have perfected.
- If you ignore my character in the room, you may safely assume, I have permanently extended to you the same courtesy.
- Respect is a two way street. Which way are you going?
- My private, offline life is none of your business. I've been stalked online one too many times, thank you.
- Picking a fight with Aeron is what it is. She is savage, brutal and there are not many moves in a fight you can throw at her, that she has not already seen. Better have a healer standing by.
- She is far from invincible, just a great deal tougher than most characters you might be used to. Weaknesses? Of course. Figure them out by gaming.
- I play her at her level of skills and abilities. I will not, for the sake of anyone's ego, play her below those levels.
- Let's say you have this nifty warrior, created, oh say a few years ago or less. Or one you claim to have created 10 or more years ago and his or her name is legendary. You create this intricate history, little or none of it actually played out, but you are playing the character far beyond the abilities and skills that can legimately be claimed by actual gaming time. Let me make this crystal clear; I've played this character online for almost thirteen years now. That is a hell of a lot of hours of play and a great deal of experience under her belt. I can promise you, she can show your character moves you never dreamed possible. Not to mention, I know quite a few of the old names from way back when that were actually legendary. Take the meaning behind this as it is.
- Story lines. Sure, I live for them. But, please don't ask me to play in one with a predeterminded ending. I would rather play in those with a plot thread that could end in a number of different ways, but no one knows for certain exactly how it will end. Much more fun that way.
- Combat. If Aeron walks away from a fight, some good advice; let her go. There are moments when I do not even see the next blow she makes coming, and I would rather not get involved in the mess of killing off someone's character, accidently or not.
- Don't start something In Character that you cannot finish In Character. Not with me. I do not want to get IMs telling me how I can and cannot play the game or my own character. Consider yourself forewarned; if you cannot game your way out of something your character intiates with mine, don't IM me and complain Out of Character about it. I'm not remotely interested in hearing it. I will creatively nullify the entire event in the room and permanently exclude every character you have.
- The lady behind Aeron is rather laid back and mellow. But Aeron does get that vicious temper from somewhere. Hopefully, you'll never know from where.
- I'm so sorry, does all this seem terribly arrogant to you? Yes well, too bad. I'm not here to prove jack to anyone, nor will I even make the effort. I've paid my dues in a huge way and my character has earned the achievements, ranking and titles mentioned on this site the hard way. By working for them, not making it up as I go along or having it handed to her.
